My heads needed valve guide work and I wasn't about to put any money in them. I had Jegs price match the E-streets so I scored them for $848 shipped and they came with a free $100 Edelbrock gasket kit.The best casting numbers for the double-hump head were 461 and 462, which had better flowing ports than the later 441 and 882 versions of this head. Then Chevy came out with the famous Bow Tie performance heads for the small block, which were even better than the original double-hump heads.The car has a very mild 383; 8.5-9.0 scr, stock heads, q-jet with stock manifold, stock exhaust manifolds with dual exhaust (no cats),700R automatic, 3.42 gears.
